Project Key Activities

  • Strengthening farmer groups and county-level networks through capacity building, organizational development, and leadership training. 
  • Providing agribusiness training and certification to community trainers to improve agricultural productivity and value chain participation. 
  • Facilitating access to market linkages, commodity trade awareness, and bulk procurement systems for smallholder farmers. 
  • Advocating for improved agricultural extension services and support for smallholder farmers to increase food security and livelihood opportunities. 
  • Supporting Farmers Institute programmes that offer experiential learning, farm tours, advisory services, and entrepreneurial business skills. 
  • Mobilizing farmers for tree planting, farm forestry, and climate-smart agriculture under national tree planting weeks and afforestation initiatives. 
  • Organizing farmer service workshops, field days, peer-to-peer learning interactions, and events to share best practices among farmers across counties (relevant to Makueni groups).

  • Increased membership and active participation of Makueni farmer groups in county and national KENAFF networks. 
  • Certified agribusiness trainers available to conduct localized farmer education and support. 
  • Enhanced awareness among Makueni farmers on extension services, market access, and commodity storage/trade systems. 
  • Strengthened farmer organizational capacity, enabling better planning and resource mobilization.
